Bookmarks Manager

Terms of Service

Last Updated: August 13, 2026

Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Bookmarks Manager - the website, web app, and Chrome extension at bookmarks-manager.online (“the Service”), operated by us (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

What Bookmarks Manager Is

Bookmarks Manager is a free tool for saving, organizing, and finding links: a web app that works in any browser, plus an optional Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with your pinned bookmarks. It is a productivity tool, not an archival or unlimited-storage service - every account is capped at 300 bookmarks by design, so the library stays a working set you can actually search, not an unbounded archive.

Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address (or sign in with Google) to create an account.
  • You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • Our Service isn't intended for children under 13. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we'll close it.
  • You may delete your account at any time; see “Your Data” below for what happens next.

Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • Use it for anything illegal, or to store or share content you don't have the right to store or share
  • Attempt to bypass the 300-bookmark limit through automated scripts, multiple accounts, or similar workarounds
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the Service's source code beyond what's publicly available
  • Interfere with the Service's infrastructure, security, or availability for other users
  • Use automated tools to create accounts or bookmarks at a volume consistent with abuse rather than personal use

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Your Data

You own the bookmarks, titles, descriptions, and categories you create. We store them so we can provide the Service to you - we don't sell them, and we don't use their content to train any model. Full details on what we collect and how it's handled are in our Privacy Policy.

You can export your full library at any time as a standard HTML bookmark file - the same format Chrome uses - from your account menu. If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted from our servers; export first if you want to keep a copy.

The Service Is Provided As-Is

Bookmarks Manager is free, and we provide it “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied - including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We're a small operation; we don't guarantee uptime or that features will remain unchanged indefinitely, though we'll do our best to keep the Service reliable and to give notice before any change that affects your data.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of - or inability to use - the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (which, for the free tier, is $0) or a nominal amount required by applicable law.

Third-Party Services

Bookmarks Manager relies on a few third-party services, each with their own terms:

  • Firebase / Google Cloud: hosts our backend and handles authentication
  • Google Sign-In: optional authentication method, if you choose to use it
  • Google AdSense: may display ads on our marketing pages (not inside the dashboard) - see our Privacy Policy for details
  • Chrome Web Store: distributes our optional browser extension, subject to Google's own store policies

Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make a material change, we'll update the “Last Updated” date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Austria, including the Austrian Trade Regulation Act (Gewerbeordnung - GewO), without regard to conflict of law principles. See our Imprint for our full legal disclosure.
